The walking dead

I do no know if any of you have been keeping up with the walking dead or watch it at all, but this season has been blowing my mind. Who ever writes these scripts knows exactly what they need to put in. I find a 1 hour episode feeling like its only 10 mins because I get so into it. Easily the best TV I have ever watched.

meetings

Well I feel that the meeting helped me out a whole lot, I got what I needed to do down, and started to realize what I should do to keep my organizing straight. But other than that I now feel like im going to going to get everything together. I have just been having a hard time keeping up with everything because its so much different than high school. Hopefully really soon I loose my high school habits and begin to form more collegial habits. We will see how things go!

One on One time

Im very happy that we are now getting some one on one time, I personally feel like I have had a lot to keep track of and it will be nice to be able to sit down and sort some things out. I very much like a consistent schedule, which is exactly what this course, and college as a whole, is not. I am still trying to get used to having so much to keep track of.

Thesis

Michelangelo has many defining styles in that appear in his paintings and sculptures. None of his pieces show this as much as, ‘The Last Judgment’. This piece not only demonstrates almost all of his techniques, but it also sheds light on a multitude of his personality traits. Many questions that people will ask are, why does he make his women so muscular? What made him paint when he preferred sculpting? And can you see evidence of his life in his work?

Sinister

So this weekend I went back home to see some friends and family, while I was home I hung with two of my good friends from high school that stayed home for school. We went out and had a good time hanging around like old times. Around midnight we decided to go see Sinister. EASILY the creepiest movie ive seen in a while. It wasnt straight up scary, but more the one that made you think all night and kept you up for a while. All I know is not only was is messed up, but it did have a very good story line, and I do recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good horror as much as I do.

Homecoming

Well that was the first time i've done anything for a college homecoming. I had no idea that it was actually more fun than a High school homecoming. I really enjoyed hearing the alumni's stories about when they where in the Fraternity, makes me feel like there are going to be some great stories during my time here as well. All in all it made me more excited for something I have already been really excited for. I love Western Michigan University and everyone I have met!

THAT MOVIE

So how about that movie we watched? I am not going to lie I was extremely confused A LOT. Im trying trying to understand what the main theme they were trying to get across was, I mean I understand the main point.. but Im still wondering if there was a hidden symbolism for the movie. Or if it was just kind of a movie that someone thought up and made. I am sure that there is a hidden symbolism(most movies have one) but I feel like this one is a lot less evident than some other movies I have seen in the past, because I normally pick up on symbolism pretty quickly. Anywho, the movie was interesting none the less.

Narrative Essay

So Ive started my narrative, and the more I type the more I have no idea what to type about... Im sifting through so many different ideas and have no clue which one to pick, and let alone write 4 pages about it... this is going to be a more difficult essay I can already see that. Hopefully I find a good topic that I can just sit and talk about for a while or I have no idea what im going to fill the pages with. We will see, the rough draft doesn’t need to be perfect and maybe after reading other peoples I will get some good ideas.

Bad day for Detroit sports

Lions... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?

I cannot believe that the lions lost to Tennessee this weekend. While yes, it was a "good game" but I still cannot shake the feeling that everyone's idea that the lions where going to be good this year is just a misplaced conception that everyone always has at the beginning of a Detroit football season. Hopefully I am wrong, I would like to see the blue go far this year. Or at least further than last year.

While I am on the subject of Detroit sports, this weekend was also an equally pitiful weekend for the tigers, really... 12 to 2 Sunday night? I just quit watching at the bottom of the 8th. This is why I shouldn't watch sports, I just end up p*ssing myself off.  

Okay, since none of you know me personally (spare 2), I am going to explain a little bit about myself. I am a Biological Anthropology major. My interests included anything scientific. I plan on going on to grad school, and hopefully get my PhD. My two favorite scientific studies are human/primate evolution and evolution as a whole, and astronomy/astrophysics. I am still in the process of finding out which I would like to go for a PhD in, but with whatever I pick I am sure that I will be happy with it!

Before I leave I will share one of my favorite pictures of (in my opinion) the coolest nebula, the Eagle Nebula about 6,500 light years out of our solar system.

just started reading

So I started reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lax. The setting of it reminds me a lot of, To kill a Mocking Bird... I do not know if anyone else feels the same way. But so far its not a bad book. It kept me at least slightly interested while I was reading it, other than just wanted to bang my head against the wall like most books I HAVE to read. Also, I am just starting to realize that it is going to be an extremely quick read, which is good and bad. I prefer longer reads when I enjoy the book (kind of the whole don't want it to be over so quick feeling) but seeing that this is not a book I pick for myself im not terribly upset that its going by so fast.
